Germania uncompromisingly places the highest demands on quality in the fields of safety and technology. In order to maintain these high standards, Germania has for many years been continuously investing in modern safety technology, such as the introduction of a “Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System” (TCAS II). This system, which is designed to prevent mid-air collisions, was installed in the Germania fleet long before it was legally required.
Germania has also invested in the “Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System” (EGPWS), which warns the pilot that the aircraft is dangerously close to the ground during flight, the “Redicted Wind Shear System” (RWSS) , which warns the pilot of dangerous wind shears, and the “Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System” (ACARS), which transfers all relevant on-board data online to a technical base. All these systems are standard on Germania aircraft.
The Germania-owned maintenance arm – accredited according to the latest standards of the European aviation authority – enjoys a particularly good reputation and allows the airline to undertake large-scale servicing in-house. At the same time, for economic reasons specific maintenance measures are undertaken in close cooperation with, for example, SR-Technics, AjW or Deutsche Lufthansa AG in their technical workshops.
