The “workhorse” of aviation
The Boeing 737 is a short-haul aircraft – the reliable “workhorse” of aviation, as it is now described. Since its first flight in 1967, the model has been continuously developed and has become an icon of aviation history.
Germania added the first Boeing 737-700 to its fleet in March 1998, and now uses ten of these aircraft on our routes. With a maximum cruising speed of 796 km/h, it has a range of 6,500 km and can carry up to 148 passengers on their holidays.
At the end of 2012 we modernised our Boeing 737s: in order to save fuel, the ten aircraft were equipped with winglets. Lightweight seats of the newest generation were also installed in the cabin along with a modern in-flight entertainment system and an LED lighting system.
