Only one bidder for a comprehensive solution is left in the investor process for the insolvent airline Germania. At the same time, two concrete offers have been made for individual solutions, where maintenance and technical services are to be sold in separate.
The investor process for the insolvent airline Germania is entering the next stage. Preliminary insolvency administrator Rüdiger Wienberg has received concrete offers for a takeover of the airline’s operations.
Swiss airline Germania Flug AG remains confidently on course for the current winter and upcoming summer season – but now as a 100 per cent Swiss enterprise. Since mid-February 2019, the airline has been operating as a fully Swiss-owned company.
Berlin, 14 February 2019. Rüdiger Wienberg, the temporary insolvency administrator for Germania Fluggesellschaft mbH, today presented the status of the investor process so far to the interim creditors‘ committee. The creditors voted unanimously in favour of an investor solution.
Berlin, 8 February 2019. Initial progress has been made in the preliminary insolvency proceedings concerning Germania Fluggesellschaft mbH, Germania Technik Brandenburg GmbH and Germania Flugdienste GmbH: the preliminary insolvency administrator Rüdiger Wienberg is holding talks with interested parties regarding possible takeover scenarios. Meanwhile, the German Employment Agency has approved the pre-financing of the outstanding January salaries, meaning that the approximately 1,700 employees will receive their money within the next few days.

Following the application for insolvency filed by the airline Germania, the Charlottenburg Local Court (Amtsgericht) today passed an order on preliminary insolvency proceedings. Rüdiger Wienberg from the law firm hww hermann wienberg wilhelm was appointed as the preliminary insolvency administrator.
Berlin-based Germania Fluggesellschaft mbH, its sister maintenance company Germania Technik Brandenburg GmbH, as well as Germania Flugdienste GmbH filed for insolvency in Berlin on Monday, 4 February 2019. Swiss airline Germania Flug AG and Bulgarian Eagle are not affected by this step.

Independent German airline Germania will operate flights to Albania for the first time next summer. From 30 May 2019, there will be two flights a week from Dusseldorf to the Albanian capital, Tirana. Germania will also launch a service from Zurich to Tirana in summer 2019.
This week saw three inaugural Germania flights to Agadir: on Wednesday, aircraft bearing the green and white logo of the independent German airline first departed for the Moroccan port city from Münster/Osnabrück Airport and from Albrecht Dürer Nuremberg Airport.
